Our PMS is typically designed to ensure the stability of the power distribution network by controlling the system frequency, voltage, and power flows when the Turbine Generators (TGs), (Gas, Steam, and others) are operating in parallel or island mode (in isolation).
The PMS is a Programmable logic control with interface modules specifically designed for power system control, load shedding and the remote operation, open or close, of circuit breakers. Interfacing between switchboards or breakers can either be hardwired or using “communication network” between the PMS and the switchboard circuit breakers or relays which are used for monitoring and commanding the respective operating devices on board the facility. In addition, C M R (Far East) are using a load shedding function in the PMS to protect the power system against instability caused by a sudden loss of generation or a low system frequency (unexpected trip of the GTs and other system consumers).
C M R (Far East) PMS includes HMI panel which displays all the data and operational presets contained within the PMS programming enabling the operator, via the HMI, to change presets and remotely open and close the circuit breakers. Our PMS control programming includes the information signals engines and generators, switchboards and other control system equipment used in the facility to perform the calculation algorithms.
Key functions being programmed are: Maintaining System Frequency, Maintaining System Voltage, Active Load Sharing, Reactive Load Sharing, Start inhibit of consumers base capacity calculation, Load Shedding for heavy consumers due to sudden loss of power, Distribution System circuit breakers status monitoring, Alarm display, logging and trending, Synchronization of Generators into the bus and other customised functions as per requirement.
